Being dependant on a substance or practice beyond one's voluntary control
Something habit forming, needing desperately
Something that takes over your mind, body and soul
Drugs, alcohol, sex or whatever the case maybe
It's a disease, a sickness physical and mentally
When a person is addicted they can't help themselves
So they need help from their loved ones because they're so overwhelmed
You must understand and be patient as time goes by
Because an addict can't make it on their own, no matter how hard they try
It's a sad situation to watch your loved ones go through it
You think back and wonder, how did it come to this
At this point it doesn't really matter because the damage is already done
Now it's just an obstacle that they must overcome
For some people it will take rehab for others maybe medication
I guess it depends on the individual and whatever is their addiction
