So you wanted drama from J.D.'s new book? Well, the ish is about to hit the fan!! People are already takin' shots at Jermaine Dupri because he allegedly lied in his book about why the group Xscape split up. Rumor has it the mogul was hookin' up with member Kandi and it caused tension in the group. She thought she should get all the lead parts, because she was hittin' the boss. Hmmm. The drama is said to have led to Kandi leaving and the group disbanding soon after. Jermaine himself is talkin' reckless about pop superstar Justin Timberlake, claiming he looks like any surburban white kid from Orlando. Guess Jermaine is still mad about how Justin played Janet after that ill-fated Superbowl performance.
This is such a sad story to report. I first heard the news over the weekend and I still feel down about it. Another senseless murder has hit the industry. Lyfe Jennings protégé, Miss LaLa was murdered along side her boyfriend 22 year old producer JeTannue Clayborn. According to reports they were ambushed at a Milwaukee recording studio Saturday October 20th. You might remember LaLa from the hit song by Lyfe, "S.E.X." from the album The Phoenix. LaLa (Yolanda Brown) was 21 years old. Keep her family in your prayers.
The R&B singer is one of several celebrities set to compete in a new CMT series designed to give one of them a chance to break out as the next big country music star.
"Gone Country," a six-episode series premiering in January, will feature John Rich of the country duo Big & Rich guiding seven celebrities through the music industry.
Along with Brown, the participants include Carnie Wilson, formerly of Wilson Phillips; Dee Snider of Twisted Sister; "American Idol" finalist Diana DeGarmo; Julio Iglesias Jr.; Maureen McCormick ("The Brady Bunch"); and R&B artist Sisqo.
Production is under way. The celebrities are holed up in a Nashville mansion, where songwriters are preparing them for a career in country music. In each episode, the cast competes against one another in challenges that will test them musically and physically to adapt to a country music lifestyle both on- and offstage. After two weeks, Rich will select one winner, who will record and release a song.
They are doing a re-issue of the best selling album of all time, THRILLLER by Michael Jackson. Girl, why are they getting Kanye West, Akon and Will-I-Am to remix certain cuts. I am mad about this. Why touch a classic? I say just re-issue it with a new MJ song and I'll be good! Anyhoo, when it comes out please belive I am gonna have the tracks for ya!!
